RallyUnited Steelworkers will be holding a rally to extend unemployment benefits on Saturday, June 14th at 11:00 am. at the Union Hall. Many of our brothers and sisters have run out of benefits and an extension on those benefits are long overdue. Speakers for the rally will include Jennifer Garrison, candidate for Ohio's 6th Congressional District, State Senator Lou Gentile and State House of Representative Jack Cera. I hope to see everyone there.
PBGC has ruled that a participant who has met the following qualifications outlined below will be eligible for an annuity starting date of 12/01/2013 regardless of if they have terminated employment with Ormet or terminated employment after 12/01/2013. Read more >>>

The relationships often results in rules and regulations that provide substantial benefits to businesses and leave citizens paying the benefits government bestows. They lost their jobs over a power dispute. Wednesday Ormet workers traveled to Columbus to rally in front of AEP. They've wanted Governor John Kasich to step in and help resolve the power rate dispute between the utilities commission, AEP and the company. Read more >>>

On Monday, November 25, a USW delegation met with representatives from Governor John Kasich’s office at the Riffe Building in Columbus to discuss our jobs at Ormet. Policy Director Wayne Struble, Assistant Policy Director for Economic Development Dawn Larzelere and Director of the Office of Public Liaison Merle Madrid attended on Gov. Kasich’s behalf.
