In Memory of Bill Froelich and Alex Boschert (click here for more info)

On April 20, 2017 in St. Louis, Missouri, two union brothers, Bill Froelich and Alex Boschert, who worked as gas utility workers employed at Spire Energy (formerly Laclede Gas) who were killed while performing their normal duties. The unprovoked shooting occured as they were installing a gas line to a residence. Both Bill and Alex were members of United Steelworkers Local Union 11-6. We all expect to be able to go to work in a safe environment each day and return home at the end of our shift in the same condition as the start of the shift. Acts of violence at the work place are on the rise and this one is unimaginable.

Bill, age 52, is survived by his spouse Karen, two daughters, one son, one grandchild and his parents. Bill was a passoinate and devoted father. He was a softball/baseball coach, president of the Hillsboro, Missouri Little League and a mentor to many. Described as intelligent, strong, determined, resilent, funny, loving and caring. Bill served many in his community.

Alex, age 27, is survived by his spouse Krystal, his son Cletus, one brother, five sisters and his parents. Alex was an avid outdoorsman; he enjoyed farming, hunting and fishing. Mostly, he loved his family and friends.
