We would like to recognize the Women of Steel for all the hard work and effort that went into the Food Drive. This was a great success and we would like to thank the membership in supporting this function and for all the donations that were given. The Women of Steel held the Regional Women of Steel meeting at the Ramada Inn on March 24, 2012. Several Locals from District 8 participated in the training and it was a very productive time. Several members from the West Virginia Legislature attended and spoke. Those members included House of Delegates members Linda Longstreth (D-Marion - District 43), Barbara Evans Fleischauer (D – Monongalia – District 44) and Charlene Marshall (D – Monongalia – District 44). Ronnie Watson from USW Rapid Response also attended and gave a presentation on the ongoing events for Rapid Response. We thank everyone who participated. See photos

We would like to commend all those who participated in the Women of Steels collection for the US Troops. They collected and mailed over 130 lbs of supplies overseas to support our troops abroad. Report from Carla Shultz...     I want to take this opportunity to thank the union membership for allowing me to attend this years Health Safety and Environment Conference last week in Pittsburgh. Over 1400 attendees from the US and Canada were in attendance. Its sponsored by our union USW, The CWA (Communication workers of America) with the assistance of the Tony Mazzocchi center which is a project of the Steelworkers and CWA and the Labor Institute.
