Stop Comp Time

House Passes Comp Time Bill.
We Can Stop it in the Senate.

Yesterday evening, the House voted 229-197 to pass the misleadingly-named “Working Families Flexibility Act” (H.R. 1180). This corporate-backed bill would replace our guaranteed overtime pay system with a new “comp time” alternative that gives our employers the “flexibility” while we ultimately get less pay and more unpredictable schedules.

How did your Representative vote?

All Democrats voted RIGHT (against the bill).

All Republicans voted WRONG (for the bill) except for
Fitzpatrick (PA-8), Joyce (OH-14), LoBiondo (NJ-2),
MacArthur (NJ-3), Meehan (PA-7) and Smith (NJ-4).

The following Representatives did not vote:
Chaffetz (UT-3), Meng (NY-6), Reed (NY-23) and Slaughter (NY-25).

We can stop this bill in the Senate. Take action!

Our chances to stop this bill in the Senate have always been greater because the bill’s supporters will need 60 votes for it to pass. Please make sure your local is taking part in the petition action that was launched on Monday. This is particularly important because the President has indicated he will sign the bill if it reaches his desk.
